This time, Pierre-Louis and Arnaud are definitively eliminated from Beijing Express, the route of three continents. At the end of episode 8, the brothers bowed during the final duel against the Catalan duo. “Even today I keep the memory of Flo in the distance who arrives before Pierre-Louis yelling” Noëëël! ” », Laughs Arnaud to 20 minutes. They admit that, although it came at the gates of the semi-final of the game of M6, their defeat was “easy to digest”. Eliminated during episode 6, they had the possibility of returning to the adventure during the next stage as a hidden buddy. And while they should have left the race, they were drafted after Jonathan and Aurore, victims of a serious road accident, forfeited. So, this eighth stage, broadcast on Tuesday, they experienced it, like “a bonus”. Debriefing.

What was your biggest frightening moment on “Beijing Express”?

Arnaud: When we were the hidden partner, we saw other candidates, so, in order not to be spotted, we went to hide in a homestay farm. Except that we entered like thieves. They didn’t understand anything. I saw the moment when we were going to take a shot, I almost wanted to stop. Finally we ran across the fields. Honestly, I was scared. Because there was a whole family who didn’t know what we were doing there. They didn’t speak English, we didn’t speak Turkish.

Pierre-Louis: We were in the open countryside. They saw us disembark, while we were hidden behind a truck. We were stressed because we didn’t want to be surprised by the other pair, but we didn’t want the whole village to be alerted either. We ran away, everything goes through your mind at that moment. You would be ready to dig underground so as not to get caught, not to be shot, what (laughs).

And your biggest giggle?

Arnaud: In step 2, when we qualified and we were able to go see the gorillas. We are super happy, we arrive in a magnificent lodge and we are served two cocktails. We tried to be careful, but everyone was looking at us, we had to drink. We thought we were going to be sick. We took a huge fit of giggles over that. It’s silly but it was stronger than us.

Pierre-Louis: There was also the paddle board event.

Arnaud: At the beginning, we were hot, happy that it was a sporting event. But afterwards, we saw that we couldn’t get away, that we were overturning, that we were sinking. We could see Flo and Noel just ahead. We were laughing out loud, it was yelling on all sides.

Pierre Louis: The worst part is that we did not see Florent and Noël advance but above all, that we could not catch up with them!

Your best homestay night?

Pierre-Louis: For me, it’s in episode 7, when we fall into a Kurdish family, in the middle of preparing for a wedding. We had a crazy evening.

Arnaud: At the Greek who wrestled too!

Pierre-Louis: We were received like kings.

Arnaud: The first homestay evening in Uganda will also be remembered. It was rough. Three of us slept with our host. It’s something I’m proud to have done but would never want to do again.

What is the stage that marked you the most?

Pierre-Louis: The victory of the gorillas is the holy grail. And when we won the final duel in episode 4. I don’t want anyone to have a final duel, but when you do, it’s the best time of a lifetime. It’s so much pressure, you are under tension, you woke up at 6 am, you finish at midnight… So when you win, you are happy.

What have you learned about yourselves?

Arnaud: Not much…

Pierre-Louis: That we are warriors! (laughs)

And what did you learn about your brother?

Pierre-Louis: That he loves me! (laughs)

Arnaud: That he could have food poisoning (laughs). Honestly, we’ve known each other for twenty-five years, we haven’t learned anything. We just shared an adventure.

Pierre-Louis: We knew when we went to Beijing Express that it was not a challenge to get to know each other better. On the other hand, we have engraved memories that will remain for life.
