Water rescue service in the district: dedicated young people – Ebersberg

The youth water rescue service in the district of Ebersberg has now gone into the summer break happily: At the end there were small challenges at the Steinsee, where the children could prove their balance and complete various exercises on the rescue board and the stand up paddles.

Since the beginning of the year, the district water rescue service in Ebersberg has been inviting all children and young people from the four BRK water rescue service groups from Ebersberg, Glonn, Markt Schwaben and Moosach to youth water rescue service training every month. Due to Corona, the first hours were still held digitally. Here the children learned a lot about nature conservation and the different knots. With a lot of distance, some swimming badges could be filed in the Glonner indoor pool.

In the classroom sessions, the digital topics were deepened again and many new ones were added. In this way, the common rescue equipment of the water rescue service could be tried out and throwing techniques could be improved. A history lesson covered Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, and the “story of an idea”. As a highlight of the first half of the year, the blood donation service in Ebersberg was visited and the blood donation could be closely followed from AZ.
