Water pistols are one of the most popular toys of summer 2023. Even adults often get itchy fingers. But what is important when it comes to water guns for dad (and mom)? Four models for adults in a mini comparison.

There is no age limit for a big water fight in the outdoor pool, garden or on the beach. On the contrary: catching mum and dad with a cool jet of water from a safe distance is at least as much fun as hosing down with your brother or sister. 1. Super Soaker Hydra

Let’s start with the impressive water version from Super Soaker. Known to small and large fans as the manufacturer of the so-called nerfs. The Hydra has a unique head, but its body can hold an astounding 1.9 liters of water. This puts this Wasserwumme far ahead in terms of capacity. You shoot with a handle between the barrel and the water tank. Not for small children’s hands, if only because of the feel. Added to this is the total weight of just under three kilograms. The range of up to seven meters is okay. Compared to the following models, this is missing Super Soaker Hydra some pressure on the boiler.

2. SpyraLX Blue

The SpyraLX is something like the Maserati of water guns. And it also works a little differently than classic models. With a trigger, exactly one water projectile is chased out of the barrel with every flexing of the finger. The manufacturer calls this technology SpyraBlast. A total of 28 shots should be possible per water charge. The is refilled SpyraLXby immersing the barrel in a water source while pushing down on the stock. The device weighs almost two kilograms empty and is available in blue and red.

3. X-Shot Water “Epic Fast Fill”

The longer it takes to reload, the quicker you get a cold shower in water fights. That’s why this water gun was equipped with a quick sealing technology. The manufacturer claims that the empty water tank (1 liter) should be full again within a second and the cannon be ready for use. And the X-Shot Water “Epic Fast Fill” should still be accurate from a distance of up to ten meters. With a full tank, however, you can also heave a water pistol weighing around two kilograms through the outdoor pool or the garden.

4. Kesser X Splash (set of 2)

With the double pack from Kesser, the water jet shoots up to ten meters from an orange nozzle. The highlight: The nozzle can be turned into four different positions, similar to a shower head. In addition to the normal focus beam, there is a double and a triple beam. If you want to be on the safe side, you can opt for the water cannon. The Kesser X Splash holds a maximum of 1.5 liters of water. The air pressure required for shooting must be built up before the water fight using a pump under the barrel. Due to its weight, the X-Splash is more likely to be something for adults and teenagers.

Water gun fight: Rule number 1

With all the fun, one rule should never be forgotten, even in the heat of the moment: Aiming at the head and especially at the eyes is taboo when shooting with water pistols. The water pressure is not only so high in the larger models that direct hits in the eyes or ears can lead to serious injuries.
