Water – Nestlé withdraws Vittel from the market – Economy

The food group Nestlé is taking its Vittel water brand off the market in Germany and Austria. A spokesman for the company said on Wednesday that the local business would end before the summer. The same applies to the water brand Contrex. The still Vittel water from the French Vosges apparently no longer meets the margin expectations of the Swiss global corporation. Nestlé wants to focus on premium water worldwide in the future. For the German market, the company relies on the San Pellegrino and Aqua Panna brands, which have a strong focus on gastronomy. The group had parted ways with its regional well operations in Germany years ago. According to the Nestlé spokesman, the well in Vittel will continue to operate.
