If it weren’t so dramatic, it would just be spectacular: hectolitres of water shoot down the stage curtain, it looks like a black waterfall. It’s raining heavily in the stage area and the alarm system is blaring. The Berliner Ensemble shared videos on Instagram on Monday documenting the devastating water damage that occurred in the theater on April 5th. Several people stand in front of it, helpless, watching. There’s nothing that can be done about the “water disaster in the big house,” as the theater writes.
