Washable diapers are no longer in the smell of sanctity in nurseries

The experiment launched in September 2021 was not conclusive. The city of Lyon had decided to test washable diapers in ten of its crèches. Only, the result was not satisfactory, revealed Progress. If the objective was to fight against the waste generated by disposable diapers, the experience turned out to be much more restrictive than what was imagined. The staff never really bought into it.

“In the context of a recruitment shortage, it was not easy for a large number of teams to adopt cloth diapers”, specifies in the columns of the daily Steven Vasselin, assistant in charge of early childhood.

However, the ecological municipality does not intend to give up. It aims to test compostable nappies from the start of the next school year throughout the 8th arrondissement of Lyon.
