Sick, insane, insane? Serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer killed a total of 17 people in the US state of Wisconsin from 1978 to 1991 and preserved parts of the bodies in his apartment. Netflix has dedicated a 10-part series to the case, which people are currently streaming millions of times worldwide, rarely has a murder case received so much attention. One of the central questions in the court hearing was whether and to what extent Dahmer suffered from a mental illness. To clarify this, forensic psychiatrist Carl Wahlstrom examined and questioned the perpetrator for more than twelve hours. A delicate undertaking, since some process observers accused him of wanting to put the crimes into perspective. Even today, a good 30 years after the verdict, relatives of the victims accuse Netflix of iconizing the perpetrator.
