Warngau: Criticism of accommodation for 500 refugees – Bavaria

Hans Gillhuber raises his arms and lets them fall again. “Helplessness,” he says, and it could be his own. But what he’s referring to is the helplessness of the district administrator, who simply can’t think of anything else. But here in the municipality of Warngau they want to know how to help each other, especially in Draxlham over behind the halls and the trees and on the other side in Lochham, beyond the industrial area and the federal highway. There are probably less than two hundred people living in both hamlets combined, with Osterwarngau, the next village, there could be around 500. In other words, exactly the same number as in the refugee accommodation that the Miesbach district office wants to stack up here from containers – far away from any larger settlement and right next to the recycling center through which garbage from the entire district is transported every day.
