Cinema feeling at home, more details during a football game and an even sharper picture: the appeal of large televisions is easy to understand. But the big picture usually has its price. In the new test by Stiftung Warentest there is therefore a smart savings comparison: The testers pitted the manufacturers’ top models against their cheaper sibling devices. With a surprising result: the savings are sometimes over 1000 euros – and without huge compromises.
The main savings potential lies in the fact that the cheaper models are usually slightly less equipped. The premium devices offer a dual receiver, slightly richer sound and usually slightly better picture quality. However, it sometimes costs more than twice as much.
