Kiev reports successes in the fight against the Russian invaders. According to the army, it has gained several kilometers of terrain and put the enemy under pressure.

According to the Ukrainian army, the Russian enemy has several Front sections pushed back by more than a kilometer.

Especially in the area surrounding the Russian-controlled city of Bakhmut in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk, the initiative is currently on the Ukrainian side, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maljar told Telegram. She specifically mentioned advances towards the villages of Klishchiivka and Kurdyumivka southwest of the destroyed city.

The Ukrainians are currently establishing themselves in newly achieved positions. “The enemy is pulling up its reserves and is clinging to Bakhmut with all its might,” she stressed. The information provided by the warring parties cannot be verified directly and independently. Bachmut was conquered by the Russians in May with heavy losses after months of heavy fighting.

During the fighting on the southern front on the border between the Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions, according to Malyar, the Ukrainian troops got stuck in the captured positions. “They bleed the enemy’s offensive potential, destroying equipment, storage, command and control points and personnel,” she wrote. The Russian side is also drawing on reserves in these areas.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for over 16 months with Western help. About three weeks ago, the Ukrainian army launched a counter-offensive to recapture Russian-held territories that had been announced for months.
