On Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy applied for his country to become a member of the EU. In a video conference in the European Parliament on Tuesday, Zelenskiy described in emotional words that the Ukrainians are also fighting to be seen as equal members of Europe in the war started by Russia – and signed an official application for membership. But this is just the beginning of a long process.
