Near the Ukrainian border, Prince William met British troops, among others, and thanked them for their commitment. A meeting with the Polish President is scheduled for Thursday.

The heir to the British throne Prince William arrived in Poland on Wednesday. Kensington Palace said he would like to thank British and Polish military personnel involved in helping Ukraine. On the first day of the two-day visit, the 40-year-old visited, among other things, a British military base in the city of Rzeszow near the border with Ukraine.

Accommodation for Ukrainian refugees was also on the agenda. “I’m here to personally thank the Polish and British troops working in close and vital partnership. I also want to pay tribute to the inspiring humanity of the Polish people. They have opened their hearts as much as their homes,” William said.

On Thursday, William was due to meet Polish President Andrzej Duda and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw’s Pilsudski Square.

Poland is considered one of the most important transit points for support to Ukraine in the fight against the Russian war of aggression, which has been going on for more than a year. At the same time, a large number of Ukrainian refugees live in Poland.
