Activists: Ship carrying aid arrives in the Gaza Strip

The situation of the people in the Gaza Strip is getting worse and worse. 200 tons of aid supplies have now reached Gaza by sea. The German Air Force is planning to drop relief supplies from the air.
The ship “Open Arms” with around 200 tons of relief supplies for the suffering population Gaza Strip reached its goal on Friday, according to activists. Unloading on the coast of Gaza has already begun, the World Central Kitchen (WCK) organization involved in the mission said on X, formerly Twitter. The “Open Arms” mission is considered a pilot project to improve supplies for more than two million people in the Gaza Strip, who, according to aid organizations, currently lack virtually everything.
The ship uses the route along a planned aid corridor that EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulidis announced a week ago in Larnaca on Friday. Independently of this, the USA is planning a maritime corridor to Gaza, for which the US military should create a floating dock near the Gaza coast.
Jordan: First air force plane landed for Gaza aid
The German Air Force has relocated its first transport aircraft to Jordan to drop relief supplies over the Gaza Strip. “The first plane landed safely in Jordan. We are unloading the material we brought with us and preparing for the upcoming flights,” the Air Force wrote on Platform X on Thursday evening and added “Air Drop for Gaza.” Gaza).
Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) gave the green light for the order on Wednesday. The aid supplies are to be loaded into Jordan and the drops are to begin this week. The Bundeswehr is providing two C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, each of which could transport up to 18 tons of load.

According to the UN, there is a risk of a hunger crisis if aid deliveries by truck are not increased. Around 2.2 million Palestinians live in the coastal strip between Israel and Egypt. There is now criticism of the Israeli military’s actions from many countries. The federal government had already appealed to Israel to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army is waging war there against the Islamist terrorist organization Hamas and allied groups after they carried out the worst massacres in Israel’s history and murdered more than 1,200 people. According to the Hamas health authority, more than 30,000 people are said to have died in the Israeli air and ground attacks, the area is badly damaged and hundreds of thousands are fleeing there.
