Selenskyj promises grain to the world, Russians a tribunal
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy sees a good chance that the blocked grain exports will soon be released. “The Ukrainian delegation has informed me that there is some progress,” Zelenskyy said in his video address. He was referring to the negotiations in Turkey on lifting the Russian naval blockade of Ukrainian ports. If the Russian threat to shipping in the Black Sea can be eliminated, the global food crisis will become less acute, Zelenskyy assured.
In his video address, the Ukrainian President also referred to his planned appearance at a forum in The Hague on the prosecution of war crimes in Ukraine. “We have to coordinate our efforts in such a way that everyone who is guilty receives their just punishment,” Zelenskyj said. Since the start of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, numerous war crimes have also been recorded against the civilian population. Zelenskyj was convinced that the perpetrators would be brought before an international court.

North Korea recognizes pro-Russian “people’s republics” in eastern Ukraine
North Korea has recognized the self-proclaimed “People’s Republics” of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine. The Moscow-based diplomatic representations of the two pro-Russian separatist areas published photos in the online service Telegram, which are said to show a corresponding letter from the North Korean ambassador. The North Korean state news agency KCNA later confirmed the recognition. Accordingly, Pyongyang declared in the letters that it recognizes the “independence” of the two “people’s republics” and wants to develop “interstate relations with these countries in a spirit of independence, peace and friendship”.
