A girl is stabbed in a supermarket in the Allgäu. According to the police, the alleged perpetrator is unknown to them. Now he was taken to a psychiatric hospital.
After the knife attack on a four-year-old girl in a supermarket In Wangen im Allgäu, a judge has issued a detention order. The police and public prosecutor announced this in the morning. The 34-year-old was taken to a psychiatric hospital for attempted murder with grievous bodily harm.
The man, who has Syrian and Dutch citizenship, is suspected of having attacked the girl with a knife in the supermarket in Baden-Württemberg and seriously injured her. According to police, it was a sudden attack.
According to a spokeswoman, the alleged perpetrator and the victim did not know each other. The four-year-old was in the discount store with her mother on Wednesday afternoon. She was operated on in a clinic after the attack and is in stable condition.
According to the police, a witness in the supermarket noticed what was happening, took the knife from the attacker and called the officers. “The witness called the police and told us where the man was. That’s how my colleagues were able to arrest him,” said the police spokeswoman on Thursday. The alleged perpetrator allowed himself to be arrested without resistance.
