Wagenknecht’s party has the potential to plow the political landscape

A new Wagenknecht party has the potential to plow the political landscape. Also at the expense of the AfD.

She was already a member of the SED, the SED.PDS, the PDS, the Left Party.PDS, and most recently the Left Party. Whenever the political left in Germany reinvented and renamed itself over the past three decades, whenever it quarreled, reconciled and fell out again, despite all these fractures and internal injuries there was one constant: Sahra Wagenknecht, former communist, today brand ambassador in own cause. Projection surface for all those who do not feel heard, taken into account and appreciated by politics. A politician with a large fan base, but so far without her own label.

She has now founded an association that bears her name, the “Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht,” or BSW for short. A new party is expected to emerge in January. The project has the potential to turn the German party landscape on its head. It could cost the AfD votes and even the lives of the weakening Left Party. Wagenknecht and her colleagues want to combine left-wing economic ideas with conservative social and ultra-conservative migration policies. This is new and a difficult birth.

There has been speculation about the new party for several years now: Does Wagenknecht dare? Doesn’t she dare? This question is now answered. Another question is all the more important: How great are your chances?
