Waal – place-name sign in the trunk – Bavaria

The police called for this gift: Several people in the Swabian village of Waal (Ostallgäu district) removed the place-name sign to give it to a friend, as the police announced on Sunday. The nickname of that man was apparently “Waal”, said a police spokesman. A witness had observed the group on Sunday night while stealing the place-name sign and notified the officials. When the police arrived, the sign had already been removed. When the police checked the car, they found the sign in the trunk.
