Völler or Nagelsmann as national coach? That’s what Müller and Sané say

After Hansi Flick was released as national coach, Rudi Völler, Hannes Wolf and Sandro Wagner took over responsibility in the coaching bench in the 2-1 win against France. Is there perhaps even a possibility that the trio will continue in this constellation until the home European Championships next year?

After the game against France on Tuesday evening, Thomas Müller said in the mixed zone about the question of the national coach of the future: “There are others there to speculate, you have enough experts. You can have a few talk sessions across all channels. I’m not revealing anything. We’ll see what happens.” He continued: “Call your buddy Romano (transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, editor’s note) or someone else.”

He emphasized: “We’ll see what happens or whether he’s up for it. Of course, it would be nice to see him again and work with him, but like I said, we’ll see.”

For Sané it is clear that the new national coach has a difficult job ahead of him: “We are not doing too well at the moment, but we have a big task ahead of us with the home European Championships.”
