When mobile surfing, smartphone users want fast internet and a lot of data volume. Vodafone is currently giving new customers 200 gigabytes (GB) in the 5G network. Is there a catch? We’ll do the check.
When looking for a suitable cell phone tariff, mobile internet is an important point for many people. It should be fast and the tariff should also have enough data volume before the speed is throttled. Anyone who opts for a GigaMobil M tariff from the provider Vodafone can currently benefit from a new customer campaign.
Vodafone: 250 GB in the 5G network at no extra charge
The tariff normally includes 50 GB of 5G data volume for 49.99 euros. New customers now get 200 GB for free, and the monthly fee is also ten euros cheaper. That means: There is 250 GB in the 5G network for 39.99 euros per month. To put it into perspective: 250 GB is roughly enough to stream 75 films in HD quality. After the minimum term, the monthly price increases again to 49.99 euros, but the data quota of 250 GB remains permanent. The data bonus is also available to new customers of the Young L tariff for everyone under the age of 28. There it is 300 instead of 100 GB of data volume for just under 30 euros per month.

Frequent surfers in particular get a good deal with this offer. Just under 40 euros for a cell phone tariff is not a small amount, but for unlimited data volume in Vodafone’s 5G network you would currently pay 64 euros. Minor catches are the data limit abroad to 80 GB and that the extra quota cannot be transferred to additional Red+ SIM cards.
Alternative: Discount campaign at Freenet
Users who are often on WiFi at home or at work do not necessarily need such a large data volume. Anyone who can get by with less will currently find an interesting alternative at Freenet. The Green LTE 25 GB tariff in the Telefónica network is available for just 14.99 euros per month. The contracts can also be canceled on a monthly basis. There are also options with larger data volumes, for example Telefónica tariffs with up to 280 GB or o2 contracts with even unlimited data reserves. However, users here are not as fast on the Internet as in Vodafone’s 5G network. For both Green LTE and the o2 Unlimited tariffs, the maximum download speed is 225 Mbit/s – for o2 unlimited Basic it is only three Mbit/s.
