Vladimir Putin’s eldest daughter, Maria Vorontsova, gave a surprise interview: about poetry, hobbies and sports. Her words about a Russia that is a “people-oriented society” sound like a mockery.
Maria Vorontsova, 38, daughter of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, utters well-sounding sentences, albeit strangely wooden and far from believable: “Russia is a people-oriented society.” “For us, the value of human life is the highest value.” “I dream that people have the opportunity to know themselves so that we can all understand each other better and communicate better.”

Vorontsova said these carefully chosen words in an extremely rare public appearance for an interview with a non-profit organization. The conversation apparently took place in mid-December, which is now reported by the news site “Agentstvo”. The Russian president has so far only spoken indirectly about his children, including from the Kremlin has not heard anything about Maria Vorontsova and her younger sister Katerina Tikhonova. As the daughter of probably the richest and most powerful man in Russia, a sophisticated, educated middle-class lifestyle may be normal, but many Russians are likely to dismiss her words as the usual, bizarre constant propaganda. According to Agentstvore, the 42-minute conversation was also viewed less than 1,000 times on YouTube. In view of the ruthless war of aggression against Ukraine, Russia’s conspicuously often emphasized “philanthropy” sounds like a disgusting mockery. Questions about the military operation were not planned anyway.
