The Palace of Versailles is being evacuated on Saturday afternoon after a bomb threat. The alert came via an anonymous message on the site moncommissariat.fr, a source close to the matter told AFP. This same source indicated that the monument would not reopen today.
This alert occurs the day after the knife attack in a middle school in Arras, which cost the life of a teacher, almost three years to the day after the death of Samuel Paty. Earlier on Saturday, the Louvre Museum was evacuated and closed for “security reasons”. Since Friday, France has been on “emergency attack” alert, the highest level of the Vigipirate system.
