Visiting the festival with babies and toddlers: family gives tips

Watch the video: “We took our newborn to a festival”: Family of 5 shows how it’s done.

Does the party life end with children?

Not for 29-year-old Katie Tradie and her husband Adam Tradie from Wales in the UK.

The two have three children and went to a festival again just eleven weeks after the birth of their youngest.

“I love taking the kids with me. They love the music and really immerse themselves in the festival culture.” – Katie

Strangers tell them they are crazy. Katie only replies:

“We’re big music lovers and so are the kids – they love camping.” – Katie

However, the 29-year-old recommends that interested parents only attend festivals that offer plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained.

“We only take the kids to family-friendly festivals that have the perfect mix of kids and adult activities.” -Katie

The family camps together in a teepee, attends concerts during the day, and participates in activities like “painting for kids.”

We always spend the whole festival as a family, spending time together.” – Katie

Coloring books, soap bubbles, fairy lights and a handcart as well as medication for emergencies are part of the basic equipment.

A lot of people around her don’t understand that a festival with kids is doable and think it’s too much for the little ones, says Katie. But for the Welsh family, it’s “a very fulfilling experience.”
