Prince William (41) traveled to France for the Rugby World Cup to cheer on the Welsh team. The Prince of Wales also sang the national anthem ahead of the game against Fiji in Bordeaux on Sunday (September 10), as Daily Mail reported.

Prince William, the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, appeared to have had a lot of fun with his team’s victory. Pictures from the event show the heir to the British throne smiling and clapping as he chats with those sitting next to him.

Princess Kate cheers on England

William’s wife, Princess Kate (41), also had reason to celebrate the day before. She is patron of the English sports association Rugby Football Union and attended the group game between England and Argentina in Marseille on Saturday (9 September). After England’s victory, Kate apparently met with players from the rugby team to congratulate.

In pictures, which were shared on the team’s Instagram account, the princess can be seen being greeted by Courtney Lawes (34) after the game. Kate – who wore a white pantsuit to the event – smiled as she shook the player’s hand. “It was a pleasure to welcome a very special visitor to the dressing room after the game against Argentina on Saturday,” the caption on the post read. “Thank you for your support, Your Royal Highness, Princess of Wales!” The team also posted more photos of Kate talking to the players.

William and Kate’s children love rugby

Prince William apparently also spoke to members of the team after the Wales match. He congratulated the team on Instagram and shared pictureswhich show him with the players.

William and Kate have also passed on their love of rugby to their children. Kate has already revealed that Prince George (10) and Princess Charlotte (8) love rugby, and little Prince Louis (5) is even said to be “crazy” about the sport.
