Virginie Despentes’ “Dear Asshole” – Culture

Every reasonably powerful bon vivant should be put in the MeToo pillory once in his life so that his inner beauty begins to shine. Otherwise he never goes to “Narcotics Anonymous”, the spin-off of Alcoholics Anonymous for all intoxicating substances. The self-help group with the twelve-point program is a good catalyst for great feelings and deep insights in films and novels, including in Virginie Despentes’ new novel “Lovely Asshole.” Presumably the muse Calliope reigns there, the sky opens up and the two unequal sisters, fiction and truth, personally descend.
