Violent storms in the South-East: waterspout, gusts, hail… the impressive images of bad weather

This Friday, September 2, violent storms hit France and in particular its South-East quarter. Back in pictures on locally impressive episodes.

Thunderstorms all over the place. With up to six departments, including Gard and Hérault, placed on orange alert and all the rest of France on yellow vigilance, this Saturday September 2 was marked by bad weather.

In the Gard

In the Gard, storms hit early in the afternoon, with torrential rains, sometimes hail and impressive gusts. But also a waterspout photographed at the Salins d’Aigues-Mortes.

Passed on orange alert at the start of the evening, the Hérault also experienced major storms.

Other sectors have been affected by violent episodes. This is particularly the case for the Lyon region and the Var.
