At the Spanish Football Association, the offensive behavior of the head of the association, Luis Rubiales, is the topic at the general assembly. But he does not want to vacate his post.
The Spanish federation president Luis Rubiales has refused to resign after the kiss scandal at the World Cup.
“I will not resign. I will fight to the end,” said the 46-year-old at an extraordinary general assembly of the Spanish federation RFEF. He sees himself as a victim. “This is not about justice, but about a social execution,” Rubiales said.
The official kissed the player Jennifer Hermoso on the mouth without being asked at the award ceremony for the Spanish soccer world champions in Australia on Sunday. Then there was sharp criticism and outrage, the world association FIFA had initiated disciplinary proceedings.
