Will he be the new guy? FC Bayern reportedly agree with coach Kompany
His sporting record isn’t the best, but is it better than nothing? Vincent Kompany could become the new coach at FC Bayern

There are increasing signs that Vincent Kompany will soon be driving the FC Bayern footballers. His record so far: mediocre. So why him of all people?
The trainer search that has been going on for months FC Bayern Munich may be close to the end. The German football record champions are said to be close to signing Vincent Kompany, and the deal could be completed by the end of the week. This is reported by the English newspaper “The Guardian”.
According to reports, talks with Burnley FC owner Alan Pace are already well advanced. On Wednesday, there were talks about the amount of the transfer fee for Kompany, who has been coaching the relegated Premier League team since summer 2022. The name of the former Hamburger SV and Manchester City professional was first linked with FC Bayern at the beginning of the week.
Kompany does not have the best sporting record. The 38-year-old managed to get Burnley promoted to the Premier League with ease, but they were immediately relegated. With 24 points from 38 games, Burnley finished second to last in the supposedly best league in the world. In the end, they were eight points away from survival.
However, Kompany received a lot of praise for the way Burnley played. The former defender began his coaching career at RSC Anderlecht. He led the struggling Belgian record champions to third place twice, then moved to Burnley after two years.
Nobody wants to be a coach at FC Bayern
For Bayern, signing the former Belgian international would bring to an end a long search that the public was able to follow in detail. After the announced separation from Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season, Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, national coach Julian Nagelsmann and Austrian national coach Ralf Rangnick all declined. A signing of former Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner also did not materialize. Roger Schmidt from Benfica Lisbon also declined, and recent efforts to keep Tuchel on have also failed.
Sports director Max Eberl would close the most important construction site shortly after the end of the season, which Bayern finished without a title and only in third place in the Bundesliga. There would also be enough time to take Kompany’s ideas into account when looking for new signings.
