Vincent Collet summons 17 players, including Fournier, Gobert and Wembanyama

The coach of the French basketball team Vincent Collet unveiled Thursday a list of 17 players summoned to prepare for Euro 2022, in which appear in particular the Olympic vice-champions of Tokyo Evan Fournier and Rudy Gobert. In addition to Fournier and Gobert, who has just changed teams in the NBA from Utah to Minnesota, Collet notably called up the great French hopeful Victor Wembanyama (18) who spent last season in Villeurbanne and has just signed for two seasons with Boulogne-Levallois.

These 17 players will meet on July 29 for the start of preparation, said the French Basketball Federation (FFBB). Six meetings, including four friendly and two qualifying for the 2023 World Cup, are on the program for the Blues course before the start of Euro 2022 on September 1 in Germany. France, 12th in the last Euro in 2017, will face Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, Bosnia and Slovenia in the group stage.
