It is a shocking sight that must have presented itself to a young man returning home. He found his mother, father and brother dead in the house. The police already have a guess as to what happened.

The background to a terrible event in Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest is still unclear. A 27-year-old man found his parents and brother dead in his parents’ house on Friday. They all had stab wounds. “According to initial investigations, there are indications that the son first killed his parents and then himself,” the police said in a statement. A spokesman did not initially comment on the possible background on Saturday. The investigation is ongoing.

Villingen-Schwenningen: Knife as suspected murder weapon

According to the police, the 27-year-old came home on Friday afternoon where he discovered his relatives dead on the ground floor of the single-family home. The 32-year-old brother was lying in a different room than his mother and father, said police spokesman Jörg-Dieter Kluge. The police found a knife on him. This is probably the murder weapon.

The parents were therefore 57 and 62 years old. Both sons are registered at the address of their parents’ house, said Kluge. However, the 27-year-old also has a second home. A forensics team secured evidence until late in the evening. According to the police, the measures at the crime scene were completed that night.
