The letter to the district court in Miesbach, which was received at nine o’clock on September 6, 2011, was possibly the last unsuccessful attempt to prevent the Russian oligarch from visiting Tegernsee. On eight pages, a Munich lawyer summarized why the villa with a lake view should not be sold to Alisher Usmanov, a multiple billionaire with Uzbek roots and close contacts to the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin. A real estate deal that today, more than ten years later, has become a political issue.
