Only four episodes have been released: Viewer record for “Bridgerton”
There are only four episodes so far, but the third season of “Bridgerton” is already a huge success. More viewers have tuned in than ever before.
Season three of “Bridgerton” has apparently become the most successful season of the popular Netflix series in terms of viewer numbers. Since the streaming service has only released four episodes and the second part of the new episodes is still to come, season three could break further records.
45 million views for the new “Bridgerton” episodes
Fans of the TV show, which is inspired by the best-selling books by Julia Quinn, 54, and follows the siblings of the Bridgerton family in their search for love in London’s high society in the early 19th century, will be excited to see what happens in part two of the new season. The current episodes focus on Nicola Coughlan’s, 37, character Penelope Featherington and her story with Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton, 31. Episode four ended with a cliffhanger.
That’s what season three is about
“Bridgerton” is considered one of the most successful series on the streaming provider Netflix and this year there is a new addition: the third season of the romance novel adaptations, eagerly awaited by fans, starts in May. The focus of each season is the love story of one of the noble Bridgerton siblings. This time it is Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) turn, who has a good friend in the inconspicuous Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). She is considered a wallflower and has been pining after Colin from afar in previous seasons – but her love was not reciprocated. That is exactly what is about to change.
While Colin Bridgerton returns from his great trip through Europe as a changed man in the new episodes, Penelope wants to marry Featherington in order to escape her unloved sisters and especially her domineering mother Portia (Polly Walker). But her efforts initially seem rather clumsy. Her childhood friend Colin Bridgerton wants to help and teaches her the art of elegant flirting. With a little too much success.
