The starting signal for 100 days in Germany’s toughest TV shared apartment has been fired: On Monday evening, a total of 17 candidates moved into the “Big Brother” container. In previous years, “Big Brother” had only monitored celebrities, but this time there are unknown participants again. Normal people like painter and varnisher Mateo or nurse Ciara are fighting for a 100,000 euro prize.

Viewers were able to watch the move in live on Sat.1. Many people could hardly believe their eyes because the rooms looked very familiar to them. “It’s not really the EXACT same container as in the celebrity season?!”, a user at X could hardly believe it. “They’re not serious, are they?” said another, irritated.
“I love ‘Big Brother’, but the fact that they use exactly the same area as ‘Celebrity BB’ is a reason for me not to watch,” says one fan angrily. The memories of the last season of “Celebrity Big Brother” are still fresh. After 15 episodes, it only ended on December 4, 2023. Reality star Yeliz Koc was crowned the winner in the final.
“Big Brother” ran regularly on TV from 2000 to 2011. The show was then canceled and Sat.1 brought “Celebrity Big Brother” into the program instead. In 2015, the women’s channel Sixx tried a new edition of the container show with normal people – without success. Five years later, another comeback attempt was made.
