Winter weather has the US East Coast firmly in its grip
A heavy snowstorm hit the east coast of the United States on Monday. He then moved up to Canada in the further course. The authorities had issued an extreme weather warning. Thousands of flights have been cancelled. Around 100,000 homes and businesses were without power in large parts of the US states of Maine and Georgia. Problems also arose in Toronto, Canada. Traffic was hampered by snow and ice. Many cars got stuck and blocked the roads. Buses were canceled and the subway was closed. In both Canada and the United States, the authorities had asked residents to avoid driving if possible. According to the meteorologists, more stormy weather was to be expected on Tuesday.
The blizzard moved on Monday from the east coast of the United States up towards Canada.
