Video: Violent shootings after drug lord arrested in Mexico

STORY: Heavy shooting at the airport in the Mexican city of Culiacan on Thursday. Earlier, security forces arrested the current leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel and son of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman – Ovidio Guzman. Amateur footage shows passengers crouching on an Aeromexico airliner. According to the airline, the fuselage of the machine was damaged, so no one was injured. The shots are said to have been aimed at a Mexican Air Force plane Ernesto Ramos, eyewitness: “I was filming when the Air Force plane landed. They were greeted with gunfire. We wanted to go to a friend’s house, but we couldn’t because of the shooting. The plane had to go around and take off again. We are now on the second floor of the airport building. Nobody is getting out of here.” After Guzman’s arrest, gunfire broke out between criminals and security forces in various places on Thursday. Residents were asked not to leave their homes. Several airports in Sinaloa province initially remained closed.
