USA allow foreigners to re-enter the country
The wait is over: after a 20-month entry ban, foreign tourists and business travelers are allowed to fly back to the USA. At Heathrow Airport in London, the rush was great on Monday, and so was the joy. After the openings were announced, the number of bookings skyrocketed. O-TON ALICE KEANE, USA TRAVELER: “It’s really exciting. I actually wanted to fly shortly before the pandemic, and then it was postponed for a long time. It’s great that it finally works.” O-TON TALIA WARE, USA TRAVELER: “Exciting, the last trip was a long time ago.” O-TON EDWARD LANGLEY, USA TRAVELER: “We held our breath because of the tension. And then the decision came. Nice that we can travel again. It’s my first trip to the US, I’m really excited. “For the past 20 months, travel to the US has only been possible for US citizens. Foreign travelers had to show a special permit from the US government. In the future, air travel will be open to everyone again possible who are vaccinated and who also present a negative corona test no more than three days old.There are exceptions for children and young people under the age of 18 as well as for government employees and diplomats.
There was excitement, joy and relief at the airports on Monday.
