Video: Ukraine reports new wave of Russian missile attacks

STORY: Kyiv residents took shelter in a metro station in the city on Thursday. They brought their pets with them. The capital of Ukraine was also the target of Russian rocket attacks. The Ukrainian government spoke of more than 120 rockets fired by the Russian armed forces on Thursday. There was an air alert again nationwide. In addition to Kyiv, several other cities in Ukraine reported explosions. The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia had attacked the country from different directions with air and sea-launched cruise missiles after a night attack with so-called “Kamikaze” drones. In many places there was a picture of devastation. There were massive power outages. There was no immediate information about possible victims. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged citizens to charge their phones and stock up on water supplies. In recent weeks, Russia has increasingly attacked the energy and water supply in Ukraine. Ukraine and the West accuse Russia of deliberately using winter as a weapon. The Ukrainian military meanwhile reports that it shot down 54 of 69 rockets and cruise missiles launched by Russia. Russia had fired cruise missiles from the air and from the sea and also wanted to hit important parts of the supply infrastructure with land-based S-300 missiles.
