STORY: SPD co-leader Lars Klingbeil was very satisfied at the press conference with FDP leader Christian Lindner and Green co-leader Ricarda Lang on Tuesday evening in Berlin after around 30 hours of deliberations in the coalition committee: Lars Klingbeil (SPD), federal chairman : “You can negotiate for two and a half days if you then have the guarantee that many things in this country will run faster, that we will regulate them faster. And that we as a coalition are taking big steps towards the direction, future and strength of Germany. And that is the result that we would like to present to you from the coalition committee over the last two and a half days.” The traffic light coalition has agreed on a package of measures to speed up planning in the road and rail network. The agreement goes hand in hand with unreasonable demands on all coalition partners, said Greens co-boss Ricarda Lang. Ricarda Lang (Die Grünen), federal chairwoman: “A strong topic in this coalition committee was the topic of climate protection and transport. Here, too, one of the most complicated things to make progress on climate protection. And we agreed that Deutsche Bahn has a need for investment in the coming years years by 2027 of 45 billion euros. That’s a huge package. That’s a huge need.” Therefore, the truck toll will also be increased from 2024, and 80 percent of this will flow into the expansion of the rails. And the Federal Minister of Finance adds: Christian Lindner (FDP), Federal Minister of Finance: “The area of the road is now also being considered. In the case of bottlenecks that we have, we will determine an outstanding public interest. Statutory provisions that the bottlenecks in the outstanding public are of interest. This affects 144 motorway projects in Germany, which are now of overriding legal interest.” However, according to Lang, the condition is that areas along every newly built motorway kilometer are used for renewable energies such as photovoltaics. An agreement was also reached on social compensation when switching from gas and oil heating to climate-friendly heating. FDP leader Christian Lindner expressed his satisfaction with the general state of the traffic light coalition. He never had any concerns about the trustworthiness of the partners.
