Tense situation on the Polish-Belarusian border
Apparently, thousands of migrants are currently trying to break through the border fence on the border between Belarus and Poland. According to the Ministry of Defense, the Polish government has already stationed more than 12,000 soldiers at the border to prevent migrants from crossing the border. The European Commission accuses the Belarusian leadership of facilitating and promoting border crossings. She speaks of a form of hybrid warfare intended to exert pressure on the EU. Belarus denies the allegations and, for its part, accuses Poland of disregarding human rights. According to estimates by the Polish government, there are currently at least 14,000 migrants in Belarus. Aid organizations say they lack food, shelter and medical care there. That is why hundreds of people try to get to Poland and the EU every day.
