STORY: World Tango Championships in Buenos Aires. There the winners in the categories “Standard” and “Stage style” were chosen on Saturday. Both winning pairs come from Argentina. Sebastian Bolivar won the “Standard” category with his partner Cynthia Palacios: “A dream has come true. I want to thank everyone, here at the obelisk, behind the cameras, because my dream has come true. I always told my friends that one day I want to be here. And thankfully, it came true.” According to Argentina’s Ministry of Culture, more than 20,000 spectators watched the dance event live from the streets of Buenos Aires. It was the first time that the event took place in full again after the Corona pandemic. In 2021, tango dancers from abroad took part in the competition via video link.
