Israeli special forces say they have killed three Palestinian terrorists in a West Bank hospital. Video footage shows that the men of the commando disguised themselves as doctors, women and nurses.

Israeli forces say they have killed three armed Palestinians and foiled an attack in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin. One of the three men was planning an attack similar to the Hamas attack on Israel in early October, the Israeli border police said on Tuesday. The three men were caught and killed in a hospital by undercover police officers. The radical Hamas, which is engaged in bitter fighting with the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip, said one of the dead from the Ibn Sina Hospital belonged to it. Islamic Jihad, which is affiliated with Hamas, said the other two dead were brothers and supporters of the organization. According to the hospital, one of the brothers was treated for a leg injury.

Video footage shared on the Internet showed around a dozen undercover investigators, three of them dressed in women’s clothing and two disguised as medical staff. Armed with rifles, they marched through a corridor in the hospital. The video was also published by the Israeli Ministry of Police on the online platform X.

Suspects are said to have planned the attack

The Israeli military identified one of those killed as Mohammed Jalamneh. The 27-year-old from Jenin is said to have had contacts with Hamas headquarters abroad. He had planned “an attack modeled on the massacre of October 7th.” The military said the other two were recently involved in attacks. “Jalamneh planned to carry out a terrorist attack in the immediate future, used the hospital as a hideout and was therefore neutralized.” Israel has long accused Hamas of using hospitals as shelters and weapons caches. Hamas denies this.

On October 7th, Hamas unexpectedly attacked the south of Israel and, according to Israeli figures, killed 1,200 people and took 253 hostages. More than a hundred hostages are still being held by radical groups in the Gaza Strip. Since the attack by Hamas fighters and allied groups such as Islamic Jihad, the Israeli military has been massively attacking targets in the narrow coastal strip. According to Palestinian information, almost 26,700 people were killed and at least 65,000 injured. Israel claims to have killed around 9,000 Palestinian fighters and 221 of its own soldiers were killed.

Fear of increased violence

There have been fears for some time that violence is also increasing in the West Bank, the second area where the Palestinians have wanted to establish their own state for decades. The far-right Israeli government under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejects a two-state solution.
