According to the authorities, at least eleven people died and 32 were injured. This resident recounts: “I was upset because people started screaming. At first I thought something had been stolen from them. But then they shouted that there had been a landslide. My cousins ​​and I ran outside. We then saw how the water swept away cars and dumpsters.” Authorities said the mudslide also hit a sports field when several people were playing volleyball there. More than 100 emergency services were on site after the avalanche to look for people who had been buried and to clear away the debris. Survivors were taken to emergency shelters.
