Several dead in the earthquake in Bali
Several people were killed in an earthquake on the Indonesian island of Bali. The magnitude 4.8 quake shook the island, popular with holidaymakers, on Saturday morning. It triggered a landslide in which two people died, the local authorities said. A third victim, a three-year-old girl, was hit by falling debris. Seven other people were injured. The center of the quake was north of Karangasem at a depth of about ten kilometers. The place is in the east of the island. Rescue services evacuated the people across the sea because the road to the affected community had been cut off by the landslide. There was no significant damage in other parts of Bali. But according to media reports, the quake could also be felt on the neighboring island of Lombok.
