STORY: The zombies are back. After the event had been held as a digital version for two years due to the corona, there was finally a spooky atmosphere live again on Saturday in Mexico City and with many enthusiastic people on site. Zombie Walk participant Juan Manuel Perez Trejo is completely euphoric: “After a two-year break due to the pandemic, this means something big. Something that people really need to come together, see each other again and exchange ideas. It’s not a subculture, it’s a tradition . Because this parade has been here for 15 years.” The first official Zombie Walk was held in California in 2001. Since then, the event has expanded to many major cities around the world. As here in Mexico, there are meetings in New York, Buenos Aires, Singapore, Sao Paulo and Frankfurt, among others.
