Video: ruling party MPLA apparently winner of elections in Angola

STORY: According to the official preliminary result, the ruling party MPLA defended its majority in the parliamentary elections in Angola. After counting 33 percent of the votes cast, the MPLA received 60.6 percent, the opposition party Unita came to 33.8 percent. This was announced by the National Electoral Commission in the capital Luanda. The MPLA has been in power for almost five decades and has been led by President Joao Lourenco since 2017, who is seeking a second five-year term.
