Video: Portugal: Researchers uncover huge dinosaur skeleton in garden

STORY: An unlikely find in a garden. Researchers from Portugal and Spain have uncovered the remains of what may be the largest dinosaur skeleton ever found in Europe. These photos were taken earlier this month in Pobmal, in the center of the country. The dinosaur is said to have been twelve meters high and 25 meters long. According to the university, the skeleton belonged to a sauropod – a group of herbivorous, four-legged dinosaur species characterized by long necks and tails. The scientists suspect that it was a dinosaur of the genus Brachiosaurus that lived about 145 million years ago in the Upper Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous periods. The name Brachiosaurus means “arm lizard” in Greek. The team has been working at the site since 2017. At that time, the owner of the property discovered the first fragments of petrified bones in his garden.
