Police break up a demonstration against compulsory vaccination

Opponents of the corona measures demonstrated in several places on Saturday – like here in Frankfurt am Main. After repeated requests to comply with the Corona rules, the police dissolved the meeting on Willy-Brand-Platz in the afternoon. The so-called “lateral thinkers” wanted to march anyway. A group moved in the direction of the Bahnhofsviertel and shouted “Resistance”. Smoke bombs were burned at the Taunusanlage. A total of 3,500 participants were registered for the march and some other demonstrations. The chairman of the conference of interior ministers, Thomas Strobl (CDU) as well as many other politicians and extremism experts had warned against a radicalization of the corona protests because of the planned vaccination requirement. The Office for the Protection of the Constitution also assumes that compulsory vaccination will reinforce the aggressive attitude of the lateral thinker movement. According to Strobl, the lateral thinking movement would be dangerous for free democracy.
