Vaccination opponents protested loudly in the heart of Rome
On Saturday evening, there were violent clashes between security forces and anti-vaccination agents in the center of the Italian capital, Rome. Water cannons were ready near Prime Minister Mario Draghi’s residence. And a large contingent of police secured the area. The demonstrators criticize the government’s current corona policy and complain about the restrictions on their rights to freedom. In Italy, additional rules will come into force in the coming week: From October 15, employees in the public sector and in the private sector, among other things, will have to submit proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative test. Anyone who does not follow this will be given unpaid leave. For this purpose, other areas such as stadiums, cinemas and theaters are to be opened completely. The vaccination rate in the country is considerable. According to the government, 80 percent of all residents over the age of twelve are now fully protected against a severe course of the virus infection.
In Italy, additional rules will come into force next week.
