You don’t always have to make an effort to get from A to B. Especially not with these scooters. These portable, inflatable vehicles are currently causing a sensation in the Japanese mobility market. The electric motor-powered scooter fits easily into a medium-sized backpack when it is deflated. It can be inflated quickly with an air pump. And off we go. Hiroki Sato, who is behind this idea. “I was thinking of developing a mobility device that could cover the last one or two kilometers, for example the distance between a train station and the workplace. For the journey that is too long to walk, but for which there is also no public transport . ” And so he and his team at the University of Tokyo made it possible. Software even helps customers adapt the shape of the vehicle to their body. Perhaps the sofa roller will make it onto the European market one day.
