UPDATE. Friday December 15 at 12:10 p.m. The Rhône public prosecutor’s office confirms that an investigation has been opened into counts of aggravated violence and death threats reiterated by the Rhône departmental public security directorate following the attack on a teenager filmed on October 10, 2023 in Lyon . Four girls, aged 13 to 14, were taken into custody.
The video is less than a minute long. It was published Thursday December 14, 2023 on the social network 13 year old girl being beaten and lynched by three other women.
The attack, filmed by a fourth, took place in Lyon on October 10, according to several sources confirmed by the first elements given to news Lyon.
Video reported on Pharos but still online
The Rhône prefecture asked to stop sharing the video online Thursday evening and reports were made to the government platform Pharosbut she is still visible on X Friday morning.
“Many of you have reported to us a video in which violence against a teenage girl is committed. The Pharos investigators are seized. Out of respect for the victim, please do not share the video or circulate information,” asked the national police.
The minute of ultra-violence was viewed several million times and widely shared and commented on by far-right accounts.
The attack in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon, an arrest
According to several media including Progress And Current Valuesthe filmed attack took place in Lyon, in the basement of a building in the 9th arrondissement.
The exact date of the attack remains to be determined but according to the conservative media which cites police sources, it dates from last October and was the subject of a complaint from the victim’s father.
A first arrest was realized.
The trail of revenge
The 13-year-old victim would have claimed to be a victim of sexual assault from one of the brothers of an attacker visible on the video. It is for this motive of revenge that a trap and punitive expedition stratagem was allegedly organized to sequester and assault the teenager in what appears to be the basement of a building.
According to our information, the girl was taken by a “friend” to a cellar where the attackers were already there.
A first young girl slaps several times and calls her a “dirty whore” then another, veiled in the video, mentions her brother. “Talk about my brother again,” she says before punching several times and pulling the teen’s hair.
“I’m sorry”, “please stop”
In these chilling 52-second images, we hear the young victim apologize. “I’m sorry,” “please stop,” she begs after a knee to the face.
To get out of this hellish scene, she then offers to give money to her tormentors.
The victim was reportedly transported and taken care of by firefighters to the Femme Mère Enfant hospital in Bron where she was treated. He was prescribed ITT one day, according to one of our sources. The father filed a complaint two days after the incident.
Four teenage girls in police custody
According to information from BFM TVconfirmed by a police source at news Lyona young girl presented herself on Thursday, December 14 at the police station in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon, accompanied by her mother, and declared that she was one of the perpetrators of the attack.
She indicated that she had been the subject of death threats since the video was broadcast and wanted to file a complaint as a victim of threats. She would be 13 years old, according to our information.
This teenager and three other girls, aged 13 to 14, were taken into police custody, we learned this Friday, December 15.
