Video of a mobile window sill by two Munich residents is enthusiastically online – Munich

It’s probably the dream of every inventor, and of course that of every influencer: just hold on to it, upload it and let it trend. In the case of Lukas Benkhoff and his business partner Benedikt Hartmann’s window sill, trending means: 20 million views within two days of their video uploaded to Instagram. That was two weeks ago. Until then, you can clearly see this in the course of the account of the two Munich students: they once received a handful of likes for a photo, now there are hundreds of thousands. In the five-second video, Lukas Benkhoff opens a window so that you can see a sunny morning atmosphere with single-family houses somewhere in Garching. But it’s not the window or the view that matters, but the window sill. It is one that is attached directly to the window itself with two brackets and therefore opens when Benkhoff opens the window. The idea: No more annoying moving of flower pots when you need to ventilate, everything can be done with just one movement. Why did these five seconds excite the internet world so much?
